beta-interferon gene positive-regulatory domain I binding factor
PR-domain zinc finger protein 1
Background Information
B-lymphocyte induced maturation protein (BLIMP-1) is a 100 kDa transcriptional repressor containing 1 DET domain and 4 C2H2-type zinc fingers. In the nucleus, BLIMP-1 is known to bind specifically with the Beta-interferon gene positive regulatory domain I (PRDI), and to interact with PRMT5. During B-cell differentiation, BLIMP-1 actively represses the transcription of the gene, c-myc, through binding its promoter and has been deemed a “master regulator” for terminal B-cell differentiation, as it is able to initiate the BCL1 cell developmental cascade.

Control
HL-60 cell lysate
Presentation
Purified rat monoclonal IgG2aκ in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.
Applications
Application
Use Anti-PRDM1 (BLIMP-1) Antibody, clone 6D3 (Rat Monoclonal Antibody) validated in WB, ELISA, IHC, FC to detect PRDM1 (BLIMP-1) also known as PR-domain zinc finger protein 1.
Key Applications
Western Blotting
Flow Cytometry
Immunohistochemistry
ELISA
Application Notes
ELISA Analysis: A representative lot was used by an independent laboratory in ELISA. (Kallies, A., et al. (2004). J Exp Med. 200(8):967-977.)
Flow Cytometry Analysis: A representative lot was used by an independent laboratory in FC. (Kallies, A., et al. (2004). J Exp Med. 200(8):967-977.)
Biological Information
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to mouse BLIMP-1.
Epitope
Recognizes epitope located between amino acids 255-395 of BLIMP-1
Clone
6D3
Concentration
Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
FUNCTION: Transcriptional repressor that binds specifically to the PRDI element in the promoter of the beta-interferon gene. Drives the maturation of B-lymphocytes into Ig secreting cells.
SEQUENCE CAUTION: The sequence AAI29802.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation. Translation N-terminally shortened.
Product Usage Statements
Quality Assurance
Evaluated by Western Blot in HL-60 cell lysate.
Western Blot Analysis: 1 µg/mL of this antibody detected BLIMP-1 on 10 µg of HL-60 cell lysate.
