HER4 / ErbB4 is a receptor tyrosine kinase that belongs to the human epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family. ErbB4/HER4 is most predominantly expressed in several breast carcinoma cell lines, and in normal skeletal muscle, heart, pituitary, brain, and cerebellum (1). ErbB4/HER4 is activated by neuregulins (NRG), betacellulin (BTC), and heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor (2). Neuregulins regulate the expression of ligand- and voltage-gated channels in neurons and skeletal muscle by the activation of ErbB 1-4. The ErbB4/HER4 receptor is unique among these receptors because its C-terminal tail binds to a protein motif known as the PDZ domain (3).

Application Notes
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot was used in IC.
Immunoprecipitation Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot was used in IP.
Flow Cytometry Analysis: A 1:40 dilution from a representative lot was used in FC.
Biological Information
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human HER4/ErbB4. The antibody does not cross-react with other EGF receptor family members.
Evaluated by Western Blot in MCF-7 cell lysate.
Western Blot Analysis: A 1:4,000 dilution of this antibody detected HER4/ErbB4 in MCF-7 cell lysate.
Usage Statement
Unless otherwise stated in our catalog or other company documentation accompanying the product(s), our products are intended for research use only and are not to be used for any other purpose, which includes but is not limited to, unauthorized commercial uses, in vitro diagnostic uses, ex vivo or in vivo therapeutic uses or any type of consumption or application to humans or animals.
Storage and Shipping Information
Storage Conditions
Stable for 1 year at -20ºC from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon first thaw, and prior to removing cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20ºC. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
