AHP973 recognises Ras homologue enriched in brain (Rheb) a 17kDa G-protein and evolutionarily conserved Ras family member, widely expressed in tissues other than the brain.
Compared with many small GTPases, Rheb is unique since it exists in a highly activated state in mammalian cells. Rheb also plays an important part in regulating the TOR signally pathway.
Although Rheb is expressed at relatively high levels in the adult cortex, it can be rapidly induced in brain neurons by synaptic activity. Following a seizure, it is transiently induced in the hippocampus.

Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP973 detects a band of approximately 17kDa in mouse brain cell lysates.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human Rheb (IN) were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
