AHP873 is specific for human Aurora A Kinase, also known as Serine/Threonine Kinase 6 (STK6).
Aurora A Kinase is a cell-cycle regulated kinase that has an important role in centrosome maturation and chromosome segregation. This protein is found at the centrosome in interphase cells and at the spindle poles in mitosis.
Recent studies have revealed that Aurora A Kinase is frequently overexpressed in various human carcinomas, which would suggest that this protein may be involved in tumorigenesis.

Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human Aurora A Kinase were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
