AHP799 recognises the 250kD protein product of KIAA0170, recently named MDC1 (for mediator of DNA damage checkpoint protein 1).
Research suggest that MDC1 is involved in the early stages of response to DNA damage and may recruit other factor to sites of DNA damage.
