AHP742 recognises the carboxyterminal region of matrix metalloproteinase 1 (MMP-1).
MMP-1 is expressed by several types of fibroblast cells. In quiescent cells MMP-1 is expressed at low levels and amount of MMP-1 expressed varies with cell type.
It is reported to be implicated in rheumatoid arthritis.
