AHP683 recognises the protein GADD34 (growth arrest and DNA-damage-inducible 34). GADD34 is a member of a group of genes whose transcript levels are increased in response to treatment with DNA damaging agents or conditions of stress. Induction of GADD34 by ionising radiation has been reported in some cell lines, regardless of p53 status. Reports suggest that GADD34 may be involved in signal transuction pathway controlling cell cycle arrest and/or apoptosis following DNA damage.

Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/postive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP683 detects a band of approximately 80-90kDa in U937 cell lysates. An overnight incubation time of 12 hours is recommended for this antibody.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
This product should be stored undiluted.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to GADD34 were raised by repeated immunisations of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
