AHP1682 specifically recognises human ATGL (adipose triglyceride lipase), otherwise known as PNPLA2, a type II transmembrane protein highly expressed in adipose tissue, which exhibits acylglycerol transacylase activity, and catalyzes the initial step of triglyceride hydrolysis in adipocyte and non-adipocyte lipid droplets.
Mutations in ATGL have been found in association with an autosomal recessive neutral lipid storage disease, characterized by mild myopathy (NLSDM) with absence of ichthyosis (skin disorders), and a marked storage of triglyceride in muscles, the liver and other visceral cells.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.

Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human ATGL was raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
