AHP1676 specifically recognises human FGF 21 (Fibroblast growth factor-21), a 22kDa secreted growth factor and member of the heparin-binding growth factor family, which play key roles in developmental processes including morphogenesis, cell differentiation and proliferation, and tissue repair.
FGF 21 is a critical metabolic regulator which signals through FGF receptors 1c and 4, to stimulate the uptake of glucose by adipocytes, in the presence of the protein cofactor betaKlotho, and in conjunction with the up-regulation of glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1).

Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to FGF 21 was raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
