AHP1658T recognises human ARTS (apoptosis related protein in TGF-beta signalling pathway), also known as septin-4. It is a member of the septin family, evolutionary conserved proteins involved in cytokinesis. ARTS is expressed ubiquitously in adult and foetal tissues, in particular in the heart, liver and adrenal gland. It is also expressed in colorectal cancer and malignant melanoma. ARTS enhances cell death induced by TGF-beta and is found in the mitochondria until apoptosis occurs, when it moves to the nucleus.

This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.

This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.

Antiserum to ARTS was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by immunoaffinity chromatography.
