AHP1636 recognises human Caspase-6, a 33.3kD type 1 transmembrane cytoplasmic protein belonging to the peptidase C14 family.
Caspases are involved in the transduction of apoptotic signals and execution of apoptosis in mammalian cells. Caspase-6 along with Caspase-3 are the major active caspases in apoptotic cells. Caspase-6 is activated through cleavage by either Caspase-3, Caspase-8 or Caspase-10 and forms two active sub-units, Caspase-6 mediates the shrinkage and fragmentation of nuclei.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1636 detects a major band of approximately 23kDa in Jurkat cell lysate. Additional bands maybe seen corresponding to either the full length protein or other cleavage products.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to Human Caspase-6 (NT) were raised by repeated immunisation of Rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
