AHP1617B specifically recognises human PAI-1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor-1), otherwise known as SERPINE1, a 45kDa serine protease inhibitor and member of the serpin family, which acts as the primary inhibitor of tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA), and hence fibrinolysis.
Increased levels of PAI-1 are associated with diabetes, cardiovascular disease and an increased occurrence of thrombosis in obesity, and can be induced by obesity related factors including insulin, glucose and VLDL (very-low-density lipoprotein).

Storage
Prior to reconstitution store at +4oC.
After reconstitution store at -20oC.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
12 months from date of reconstitution.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human PAI-1 was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
