AHP1594 recognises human ASK1 (Apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1) a 155kDa protein belonging to the protein kinase superfamily.
ASK1 is a serine/threonine kinase, also known as MAP kinase kinase kinase (MAPKKK), and plays an important role in the apoptotic response to various stimuli including oxidative stress, cytokines (e.g. TNF) and endoplasmic reticulum stress. Akt in conjunction to Hsp90 phosphorylates ASK1 at Ser83 to inhibit ASK1 induced apoptosis.
ASK1 is widely expressed in a variety of human tissues including the heart and pancreas.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1594 detects a band of approximately 155kDa in SW1353 cell lysates.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human ASK1 (CT) was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
