AHP1570 specifically recognises isoform 1 of human glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1), a 22kDa ubiquitously expressed selenium-dependent antioxidant enzyme and member of the glutathione peroxidase family, which catalyzes the glutathione-mediated reduction of toxic peroxides, protecting against oxidative damage and free radicals.
Genetic polymorphisms resulting in variants of GPX1 have been linked with various cancers, including lung cancer, bladder cancer, and a significantly increased risk of developing breast cancer.

Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human GPX1 was raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
