AHP1180 detects an epitope within the C-terminal (CT) of human interferon regulatory factor 7 (IRF7), a 54kD transcriptional activator of type I interferons (IFNalpha/beta) in response to local and systemic viral infection. IRF7 is mostly expressed by plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC), which differentiate in response to IFNs and virus infection. This then stabilizes the IRF7 protein, in turn leading to increased IFN production.
Multiple IRF7 transcript variants have been identified, although their individual functions have not yet been established.

Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1180 detects a band of approximately 51kDa in 293 whole cell lysate.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human IRF7 were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
