AHP1116 detects an epitope within the internal region of retinoid X receptor alpha (RXR alpha). RXR alpha is a 54kD member of the steroid/ thyroid receptor superfamily of transcriptional regulators, and is a nuclear receptor that mediates the biological effects of retinoids through its involvement in retinoic acid-mediated gene activation. RXR alpha regulates gene transcription by recruiting coactivators or corepressors to their promoter sequences.
RXRs play important roles in multiple signalling pathways, including cell growth, differentiation, homeostasis, metabolism, and development.
AHP1116 does not cross-react with either RXR beta or gamma.

AHP1116 detects a band of approximately 55kDa in human epidermoid carcinoma A431 lysates. A minimum incubation time of 1 hour is recommended with this antibody.

This product should be stored undiluted.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.

Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human RXR alpha were raised by repeated immunisations of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
