AAR44B specifically recognises rat stem cell factor (SCF), a type I transmembrane protein and haematopoietic growth factor which acts in synergy with other growth factors, and signals through the receptor tyrosine kinase c-Kit (CD117).
The interaction between SCF and c-Kit regulates developmental and functional processes of haematopoietic progenitor cells, mast cells, myelanocytes and germ cells, and plays an important role in follicular development. Studies have also shown that the interaction between SCF and c-Kit is associated with the progression and invasiveness of some tumours, including melanomas.

After reconstitution store at -20oC.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
12 months from date of reconstitution.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to rat SCF was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
