AAR38B specifically recognises rat interleukin-2 (IL-2), otherwise known as T-cell growth factor, a multi-functional immunoregulatory cytokine and member of the IL-2 family, secreted by antigen or mitogen stimulated T cells.
IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor complex (IL-2R), and is principally involved in the stimulation of the T cell proliferative response, promoting T cell clonal expansion and the expansion of T memory cells expressing low levels of high-affinity IL-2R. IL-2 also stimulates the growth/differentiation of B cells, monocytes, NK cells, macrophages and lymphokine activated killer cells.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Storage
Prior to reconstitution store at +4oC.
After reconstitution store at -20oC.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
12 months from date of reconstitution.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to rat IL-2 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
