AAR21 recognises rat ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF).
Rat CNTF is a 22.7kD neuroregulatory cytokine which is found primarily in peripheral nerve tissue. CNTF promotes the survival and differentiation of neurons and other neuronal cell types.

Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.

Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to rat CNTF were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
This antibody may be used in an indirect ELISA or as the capture reagent in a sandwich ELISA withAAR21Bas the detection antibody andPRP26as the standard.
