4670-1759 is specific for the Glucose 5 transporter, also known as GLUT5, that catalyses the uptake of D-fructose into cells. This 55 kDa protein is expressed in the plasma membrane and is found mainly in intestinal tissue, kidney, and spermatozoa. Increased intestinal levels of GLUT5 are seen in type 2 diabetes.
