Description:This 10/78 monoclonal antibody recognizes rat CD161a, which is also known as NKR-P1A. A member of the NKR-P1 family of type II transmembrane C-type lectins, CD161a exists as a homodimer on all NK cells, some T cells, and monocytes. In the rat, this activating receptor is also detectable on B220+ single positive B cells. CD161a is involved in activating NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity via phosphoinositide turnover and intracellular calcium mobilization.
