Interleukin 6 (IL-6) is a pleiotropic cytokine that is produced by many different cell types and plays a role in a wide range of functions, such as immune responses, acute-phase reactions, and hematopoiesis. Among other things it augments antibody production from activated B cells in vitro.
Reacts with Human, cross reacts with certain non-human primates. Neutralizing antibodies have only been tested with human cells.
Rat monoclonal antibody to human Interleukin-6, clone 39C3 biotinylated. Suitable as detection antibody in ELISA and ELISpot (in combination with clone 13A5, code 3460-3).
