2407-1658 reacts with 34 kD cdc2 protein, no reaction was seen against other related cyclin dependent kinases. p34cdc2 complexes with cyclin to form maturation promoting factorThe active form of the enzyme functions by phosphorylating a number of proteins, this is coupled with cell entry into the M-phase of the cell cycle. p34cdc2 must be associated with normal cyclin for the M phase to be completed. Association with deletion mutants of cyclin halts the M phase prior to completion.
