Description: The hNanog.1 antibody was generated against and reacts with human Nanog, a homeobox transcription factor. In addition to the known Oct4 and Stat3 transcriptional operating systems, Nanog plays a crucial role in the second embryonic cell fate specification following formation of the blastocyst. Nanog was identified as a gene specifically expressed in mouse ES cells and preimplantation embryos and is capable of maintaining ES cell self-renewal independently of LIF/Stat3. Potential cross-reactivity of this antibody to other proteins has not been determined.
